It seems some other people have helped you out in the ordinary fresh water tactics so i Will help you with the fly fishing, i assume its mainly trout your fishing for? if it is then do you already have a fly rod and lines? I’m assuming you have so i will go straight to the main thing…the fly. Firstly for lakes there are a number of flies you can use, each one has their own use at some point, firstly lures since i dont know exactly where you are fishing i will give you some rough ideas, try the old favorite, the wooly bugger, olive works very well for lake trout fished on an intermediate line, a fluorocarbon tippet will work best such as rio fluoroflex or airflo g3, you can get away with using 10lb test in these

The above selection of flies should see you some good fish especially the morrisons high voltage on a floating line and 12 feet tippet, for other flies i recommend the PTN a fly that will catch you a fish almost anywhere. Rivers are different nymphs are the way i like to go but using a lighter rod setup a 4wt max. 3lb tippet is my usual and i find czech nymphs fished close to the bottom the best for brown trout and rainbows

You may also want to try dries on the rivers, when its windy and your under trees these often get blown onto the surface of the water and the trout go mad for them
