   Usually, Red Snapper are caught while stationary bottom fishing using cut bait,sand flea crabs or minnows. I would think either rod & reel you mentioned would do the job, heck, for that matter, I’ve seen guys in 16′ Jon boats with a Zebco 33 land 15 LB Snapper around oil rigs off Panama City FL..
