i had 2 abu garcia 6600 bcx’s one was real good the outher is messing up (sendin it bck) and i traded my friend my good 6600 fer his 6000 love them way better now when i send mine back im gonna leave it in the box and trade for another 6000 love them they need to make them again
6600 is a lesser reel. many parts are plastic where on the 6000 they are metal. This does not make the 6600 a bad reel though. I still like the reel a lot
How do you like the BCX im lookin for a good catfish reel for like fifty or sixty bucks any suggestions
those are definitely not the same reels. the model that replaced the 6000 is the 6500c3. abu garcia also makes a model called the 6600c4 which has a better drag and a higher gear ratio. i would definitely recommend either of these
the bcx6600 isn’t a bad value for the price, but that doesn’t quite make it a good reel. Some of the most important gears are plastic. For me, the gear that turns the wormdrive wore out after just 2 uses without any resistance at all, so it wouldn’t even spool the line.
Everyone would be better off sticking with the c3 or c4 models. The BCX series needs to be discontinued.
