I feel like the c3 has more reviews and very good ones… but the c4 is a later version and should be more "efficient" right? but the c4 doesn’t have that many reviews.

Depends on how you intend to fish.
My C3′s are usually dedicated to "bruiser jobs" like Catfishing and a variety of Saltwater duty’s.
My C4′s are dedicated to Bass/Pike fishing. Why? The gear ratio is faster making hook-set’s quicker & easier. You DO lose a bit of torque, (due to the faster ratio) but if you crank the drag down you won’t notice it.
Currently, I’m using my C4 4600 as a back-up Flippin’ outfit. And it works WELL!
If you’ve got large hands a Round-style caster can be a blessing.

Actually, the C3 & C4 came out around the same time. If you’re going for Bass definitely get the C4. It has a faster retrieve which will help in using Buzzbaits or any other fast moving baits.
